Production delayed, more testing


Good evening,

We did not yet go into production since we wanted and needed bit more time to have a working and fun prototype. The extra testing involved making new levels that are more compact and interesting to stimulate player interaction.

We also experimented with the camera distance, trying to get the players closer to the action.

By now you are probably wondering what the big round circles are. Let me introduce a new feature: slow traps! It was too easy for the other player to run away so we decided to add some environmental hazards. Here is an early concept of what we have in mind for the trap:

We also made a working version of the bomb magnetism system we talked about last week!

The bomb is now attracted to players that are not tagged which, when combined with the bounciness of the bomb results in some wacky situations :D

We've added some numbers in the corners of the screen to indicate each player's remaining lives, which will of course be refined during production but this will do for now :p

The players also got a little aim indicator to make it easier to see where each player is aiming towards :D

In addition we have made the first steps at concepting for the player character, since that would not be too dependent on the outcome of the prototype. Still in early stages but soon we will have a clear idea of what our player character will look like!



Besides all that, everything slowed down a little bit due to the team missing a person this week, but we hope to get back on track as soon as possible.
