The day of the dead, last sprint!
Hello and good evening our dear readers!
We are exited to present to you our final week of progress that will wrap up this here project of ours. It has been a rocky road getting here but we can all say that wat we have made something that we can have some good fun with. Many lessons have been learned, pitfalls fallen into, but alas we are here.
At this point we think it would be fun to take a look back at how the game has progressed thoughout this production. We've come quite a way haven't we? These are some screenshots of all the main builds that we published.
This last week we were tasked with making the game as polished as it can be before the deadline. Making sure the game plays like it should and looks good while doing so. But besides looks we also implemented audio into the game. Making lots of actions more responsive and adding an uplifting mood to the whole game.
Our wholesome taco pickup finaly got a propper particle effect showing its holy arival into the gamescene:
Another particle effect that has been put in the game is an indicator that show the last player who has held the bomb. This will help with reducing the confusion of who is actually supposed to blow up. The particles represent the paper trail left by the piñata bomb.
Strangely enough the next topic wasn't even in the game in the first place. Lady death, standing at the center of the ofrenda, needed a make over. The skull motif on the statue is now a good way to indicate the theme when player join the main menu.
We added an extra animation in the game that plays when the bomb turns into the rocket. This animation is the panic mode! Every player starts flaying their arms around in hope that they wont get targeted by the impending doom flying around the arena.
So this has been our final devlog. We hoped you enjoyed following along with our progress and may have even picked up on some usefull or fun info along the way. Hopefully you find the time and a group of friends to enjoy our little game and have as blast playing it!
